WHY HEROES MATTER

Global health is shaped by people, knowledge and collective action.

Behind every major improvement in health are people who asked difficult questions, generated evidence, challenged injustice, created new ideas, built institutions or helped communities act.

GHE invites young people to look beyond celebrity and discover a broader meaning of leadership and contribution. A hero may be a scientist whose discovery changed medicine, a community leader who defended the health of others, an Indigenous knowledge holder protecting generations of knowledge, a young person creating change, or an institution that transformed how the world understands a health problem.
