Global Health Explorers is committed to building governance structures that protect its mission, support its learners, strengthen accountability, and ensure that decisions are made in the best interests of the communities it seeks to serve.
Governance at GHE is understood not simply as organizational administration, but as stewardship of a long-term educational and public-interest mission.

As GHE develops, its governance arrangements will be guided by a set of core principles designed to protect trust, encourage participation, and support responsible growth.

Young people are not simply recipients of education. GHE seeks to create meaningful opportunities for youth perspectives to inform learning, programs, innovation, and future directions.
The safety, dignity, privacy, and wellbeing of children and young people are fundamental considerations in the design and delivery of GHE activities.
PARTNERSHIP STEWARDSHIP
GHE recognizes that meaningful global health education requires collaboration across schools, universities, public health institutions, community organizations, technology partners, educators, families, and young people.
Partnerships will therefore be developed with attention to shared values, clarity of roles, mutual respect, appropriate recognition, and responsible stewardship of resources and information.
GHE will seek partnerships that strengthen its educational mission while protecting the interests and wellbeing of its learners and communities.
INDEPENDENCE & TRUST
GHE recognizes that individuals involved in governance, advising, education, research, partnerships, or other activities may sometimes have interests that could influence—or appear to influence—their responsibilities.
RESPONSIBLE DATA STEWARDSHIP
As GHE increasingly works with digital learning, data literacy, artificial intelligence, and potentially sensitive information, responsible data stewardship will remain an essential part of its governance approach.
GHE will seek to promote privacy, security, informed participation, appropriate data use, transparency, and ethical consideration of emerging technologies.
These principles are particularly important when activities involve children and young people.
CONTINUOUS ACCOUNTABILITY
Governance at GHE is intended to evolve through reflection, learning, consultation, and continuous improvement. The organization will seek to learn from experience and respond responsibly as its activities and partnerships develop.
Hear from learners, educators, families, partners, and communities.
Examine evidence, experience, outcomes, challenges, and emerging needs.
Adapt programs, policies, partnerships, and educational approaches.
Communicate learning and remain accountable to the GHE community.
INSTITUTIONAL FOUNDATION
The Constitution establishes the fundamental purpose, values, and commitments of Global Health Explorers. Governance provides the structures and practices through which those commitments can be protected and implemented.
The Five Pillars then translate these principles into a framework for learning, equity, evidence, compassion, community, leadership, and action.
LOOKING AHEAD
As Global Health Explorers grows, its governance arrangements may evolve to include appropriate boards, advisory structures, youth representation, educational and scientific expertise, safeguarding mechanisms, and other forms of independent guidance.
Any future structure should remain proportionate to the organization's activities and consistent with its public-interest mission, legal obligations, and commitment to transparency and accountability.
The objective is not governance for its own sake, but governance that enables GHE to remain trustworthy, effective, inclusive, and focused on its mission.
