Curiosity
Asking thoughtful questions and being willing to explore what is not yet understood.
YOUNG VOICES • CONTRIBUTION • LEADERSHIP
Good work deserves to be seen, valued and remembered.
At GHE, recognition is not simply about winning. It is about celebrating curiosity, learning, contribution, responsible action and the courage to help others move forward.
WHAT RECOGNITION MEANS AT GHE
Young people contribute in many different ways. Some ask an important question. Some investigate evidence. Some build an idea. Others organize, collaborate, advocate, mentor or help someone else participate.
Asking thoughtful questions and being willing to explore what is not yet understood.
Developing knowledge, skills and the ability to think critically about health and society.
Offering ideas, evidence, creativity, effort or support that makes the GHE community stronger.
Helping others move forward with integrity, empathy, evidence and responsibility.
THE GHE RECOGNITION PATHWAY
Recognition can grow as a young person's contribution grows. The pathway is not a competition. It is a way of making meaningful learning and action visible.
Discover global health questions, learning pathways and opportunities to participate.
Share an idea, perspective, skill, resource or meaningful contribution.
Ask questions, engage with evidence and investigate an issue that matters.
Turn learning into responsible action with others and contribute to positive change.
Help others participate, build coalitions and lead with responsibility.
Become an example of sustained learning, contribution, responsible leadership and service to others.
These recognition levels describe the GHE recognition philosophy. Formal criteria, nomination processes and designations will be developed as GHE grows.
WHAT COUNTS
A meaningful contribution is not always the biggest project or the most visible achievement. GHE looks at how young people learn, work with others and use their knowledge responsibly.
Growth in knowledge, skills, critical thinking and understanding.
The willingness to move from curiosity toward constructive participation.
Respect for evidence, uncertainty, critical thinking and responsible claims.
Working respectfully across different perspectives, backgrounds and experiences.
Considering consequences, fairness, safety and who may be affected by an action.
Helping others learn, participate and have opportunities to move forward.
THE ASPIRATIONAL DESTINATION
A GHE World Champion is not simply someone who has won something.
It is an aspirational idea for a young person who has developed the knowledge, character and experience to use learning responsibly, help others participate and contribute to healthier and fairer communities.
World Champions represent the direction GHE hopes young people can grow toward: from learning, to contribution, to leadership, to inspiration.

THE GHE WORLD CHAMPION LENS
The idea of a World Champion reflects a deeper definition of achievement: what you know matters, but so does what you do with it and how you affect others.
Remains curious and recognizes that learning never really ends.
Questions assumptions, examines evidence and is comfortable with uncertainty.
Creates space for different perspectives and recognizes the value of other voices.
Thinks about consequences, fairness, safety and real-world impact.
Uses leadership to create opportunities for others rather than simply gaining recognition for themselves.
Connects personal action with communities, systems and the wider world.
RECOGNITION WITH PURPOSE
Recognition should encourage young people to keep learning, take responsible action, support their peers and imagine what they can contribute to the world.
THE GHE RECOGNITION IDEA
Your contribution may begin with one question, one idea or one small action. What matters is what you learn, what you contribute and who you help along the way.
